SGHPS Pitho
About us

A village school with district-level ambition

We opened our gates so that children in Pitho would not have to travel to a town for a good education. That is still the whole point.

Our purpose

Education close to home

Shri Guru Hargobind Public School is a co-educational school in the village of Pitho, in Tehsil Rampura Phul, District Bathinda.

Families here work hard for their children's schooling. Our job is to make that effort count: qualified teachers, a full syllabus taught properly, laboratories that are actually used, and a staff that treats every child's progress as its own responsibility.

School history, founding year and the story of how the school began are still to be added here.

What we stand for

Four ideas we keep coming back to

Named in honour of Shri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, the school tries to hold on to the values that name carries.

Seva

Service to the community is part of school life, not an extra-curricular add-on.

Sach

Honesty in classwork, examinations and conduct is expected and modelled by staff.

Sikhya

Learning is a lifelong habit; we teach children how to study, not what to recite.

Samaan

Every child is treated equally, regardless of background, gender or means.

Message

From the Principal's desk

The Principal's message is still to be written. It will introduce the school's approach to teaching and what parents can expect from us.

The School Management Committee and the Parent Teacher Association meet through the year to review how the school is run. Both lists are published in full on our disclosure page.
